New Dessert for a Walk in Tainan: Pudding Snow Ice Topped with Rich Caramel

Zhengxing Street is always bustling, and the nearby Guohua Street is also a famous food destination. A stroll here will definitely fill you up—there’s plenty of street food, desserts, and icy treats to try. You might just not have enough room in your belly though～ Come on, there’s a new spot Up on Zhengxing Street—Pangbi is quickly staking their claim again.

Ta-da～ This time the star is the Sakura Wave Pudding. Many of you must have heard of Sakura Wave Pudding～ It has now set up shop on Zhengxing Street too. The store name is pretty cute too: ‘Sakura Wave Pudding Sweet Treats Kiosk’. If you love their puddings, you can enjoy them here as well. Before this, you had to go all the way to Minzu Road to get them. Sakura Wave is an established brand in Tainan that started with puddings. I previously tried their snow ice and loved it. When I saw this branch on Zhengxing Street, I immediately had a bowl. I’m telling you—Zhengxing Street could be renamed the Ice Cream Street!! There are just too many places selling ice!!

The Zhengxing branch focuses on takeout flower bowl snow ice. The small shop also offers a dine-in area, but seats are limited. There are also seats at the back where you can enjoy your ice or pudding. When in Zhengxing Street, you’ve just got to shop, eat, and indulge to your heart’s content!! (Can we skip the indulging part?)

There’s also a seating area in the back too!!

Let’s take a look at the MENU. The selection here is relatively simple, focusing on snow ice, pudding, and slushies.

If you’re looking for souvenirs, they’ve got those too～ There are 8-piece and 12-piece gift box options for various pudding flavors, plus home delivery service. If you buy too much or don’t want to carry them, just opt for delivery XD Of course, you can also enjoy a single serving of pudding if you prefer.

The snow ice here is a bit different from the usual method of using a large block of ice. Each portion of snow ice here is individually sized for one person, designed just for personal servings.

Hehe～ Let’s get one bowl of each flavor!! The yellow one is the season-limited mango flavor. I asked and it seems it’ll be available until the end of September, after which it’ll switch to strawberry flavor. Mango lovers, hurry and catch the last of mango season!!

Caramel Pudding Snow Ice - NT$60

The snow ice here at the kiosk uses convenient flower bowls, making it perfect for eating on the go～ It’s basically the next-gen sweet treat for walks around town!! The flower bowl actually looks a bit like a waffle cone shape, haha, just a bit more oversized XD

The first time I had Sakura Wave’s snow ice was this flavor!! That big signature pudding is flipped upside down on top of the snow ice, and you can even smell the caramel aroma. Yep!! It’s topped with a generous pour of rich caramel sauce!! Visually, it’s quite charming too～

When you dig in, you find a milk-flavored snow ice base paired with aromatic caramel sauce. The caramel has a slightly bitter-sweet roasted note, and I, Pangbi, just love this sweet taste. Each bite is filled with caramel aroma, giving off a nostalgic pudding vibe. The silky smooth pudding carries a hint of egg fragrance—it’s a perfect match!! I even took some home for my family to try. My mom said it tasted like coffee?? I think she meant the roasted aroma!! I personally really love this flavor—it’s definitely made for sweet tooths like me.

Mango Snow Ice - NT$70

This flavor was also a first for me. Its bright yellow color gives off strong summer vibes. It’s truly a summer dessert～

On top of the mango snow ice is fresh milk cheese, along with agar jelly on the side, and finally drizzled with sweet mango sauce. It looks super tempting too!! Another great way to hold onto the tail end of summer!! Mango～

After snapping some quick photos, I took a bite and realized the snow ice itself is mango flavored too!! I thought it was just infused with mango sauce～ The whole mouth is filled with the fragrant, sweet taste of mango. The transparent part is the agar jelly, which doesn’t have much flavor on its own but adds texture. Paired with the creamy, milk-flavored cheese, it’s pretty great. The snow ice just melts in your mouth.

Mango Pudding - NT$45

Haha, just have to catch the tail end of mango season—let’s get another mango pudding!! I wonder if you’re like me—if you see the words “season-limited,” you just can’t help but order it XD Those two words have some kind of magic power!! (Okay, fine, it’s just weak willpower)

The pudding has a strong, sweet mango aroma, and the soft, tender texture just melts away in no time.

The snow ice can be taken to go too!! I took some home the same day, but don’t go too far—the snow ice melts quickly. Both flavors I tried that day were great, but I’m more partial to the caramel pudding flavor, just because I love that roasted caramel taste～ Friends who are interested should definitely give it a try Up～ You can also get it at the Minzu branch!!Here's the link to the previous article.
