The annual China-Japan-Korea University Mountaineering and Rock Climbing Exchange Event has come to a close. This year’s exchange was held from August 16 to 21 at Kanagawa University in Yokohama, Japan. The Chinese team, represented by China University of Geosciences, sent a delegation consisting of 10 students and 2 teachers. Led by the Chinese Mountaineering Association, they participated as scheduled. Red Penguin Outdoor Products Co., Ltd., as the strategic partner and the sole designated product sponsor of the China University of Geosciences mountaineering team, provided strong support for this trip to Japan and shared the achievements and joy of the exchange with the university.

Fear No Challenge, Reap Great Rewards

The China-Japan-Korea University Mountaineering and Rock Climbing Exchange Event has a long history, and this year marked its seventh edition. In 2007, the event was jointly initiated by the mountaineering (alpine) associations of China, Japan, and Korea. It is held annually, with the three countries taking turns to host. The activities mainly involve discussions, exchanges, and practical sessions on theoretical knowledge and skills related to high-altitude exploration, trekking, rock climbing, rafting, wilderness survival, and rescue. This year, the Chinese team, represented by China University of Geosciences, fearlessly competed against strong opponents, striving upward, and won the women’s runner-up, men’s 7th place, and the Spiritual Civilization Award. They also took the top four spots in the Mount Fuji climb.
This China-Japan-Korea University Mountaineering and Rock Climbing Exchange Event further strengthened business exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese Mountaineering Association, the Japan Alpine Club, and the Korea Alpine Federation. It promoted the development of mountaineering and rock climbing among university students in the three countries. Not only did it enhance mutual understanding and friendship among students, but it also fostered learning and progress among university clubs, providing a great platform for outdoor activity exchanges for today’s youth.
