“Take a selfie with Puss in Boots!” DreamWorks Star Breakfast Show – Photos Matter More Than Food

Imagine if adorable cartoon characters like Kung Fu Panda and Puss in Boots jumped out of the movies to have breakfast with you—how joyful would that be? At Sands Cotai Central in Macau, there’s a daily “Kung Fu Panda: Dance Party Brunch” where not only do the big-name DreamWorks stars sing and dance on stage, but they also come down to mingle and celebrate with the audience.

The Kung Fu Panda: Dance Party Brunch is a long-running entertainment event at Sands Cotai Central. The breakfast, themed around DreamWorks characters like Toothless, Po, and Shrek, is served buffet-style. Side buffets offer a variety of breakfast items, along with creative dishes inspired by the movies, ensuring fans and children have a feast.

Lift the steamer lid, and inside is a bun shaped like Po’s round face; another bun with green skin and two ears sticking out recreates Princess Fiona. For desserts, there are, of course, the gingerbread men from *Shrek* ! Beyond the snacks, the interior is decorated with castles from the “Far Far Away Kingdom” and traditional Chinese architectural elements from *Kung Fu Panda*, making it a cartoon wonderland.

At the center of the dining area is the main stage for the Dance Party Brunch, where characters take turns appearing to interact with guests. When Shrek, Po, and others make their entrance, excited cheers erupt from the kids; when Puss in Boots or the Penguin appears, shrieks of “So cute!” fill the air, creating a lively atmosphere. These characters also perform energetic dance routines on stage, and if you’re lucky enough to be chosen, you might even get to join Tigress for a martial arts lesson.

When all the characters join the “parade” offstage, it becomes the most exciting moment. Characters like King Julien, Puss in Boots, and Alex roam between tables, striking various poses for photos, and even sit down to “have breakfast” with guests—adorably fulfilling the dreams of fans meeting their idols.

Judging purely by the taste of the breakfast, the DreamWorks brunch isn’t particularly impressive, and the price isn’t cheap. But watching these stars joke around and dance nearby is a truly fun experience. Compared to waiting in line at Universal Studios for photos, here the characters come to your table, allowing for more memorable group shots—an added bonus.
