According to Canada's Ming Pao Daily News, Chinese-Canadian woman Amy Tso from Surrey, Canada, recalled her first time climbing the Grouse Grind hiking trail on Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver, saying she found it hard to breathe and was gasping for air constantly. However, last Friday, she became the female with the highest number of climbs, setting the record at 1,000 hikes and earning the title of the true "Queen of the Grouse Grind."
Now 31 years old, Amy Tso’s parents are immigrants from Hong Kong, and she herself was born and raised in Vancouver. Tso revealed that she first climbed this famous North Shore hiking trail in 2005, and by 2009, she had started hiking regularly, going up and down several times a day. Gradually, her friends gave her the nickname "Queen of the Grouse Grind."
