The most convenient bike can be folded into a bag for subway rides; the most expensive can rival an off-road vehicle; the cutest has no pedals—it’s a children’s bike… Today, the Asian Bicycle Exhibition opens at the Nanjing International Expo Center, featuring road bikes, mountain bikes, tricycles, unicycles, and a vibrant display of white, black, red, and yellow, treating cycling enthusiasts to a visual feast.

This year’s Asian Bicycle Exhibition brings together 394 brands of sports bikes, high-end bicycles, cycling apparel, and accessories—including CANNONDALE, SPECIALIZED, BMC, BH, UCC, and SenDike—showcasing their full 2014 product lines. The total number of brands has increased by 65.5% compared to last year.

The "Fat Boy" in the special exhibition is the all-rounder champion.

The SPECIALIZED and FUJI booths in the special exhibition area are commanding major attention, drawing crowds of cycling fans and media. SPECIALIZED’s bike is called the FAT BOY (Fat Boy), and like FUJI, its standout feature is its thick tires. According to on-site staff, while standard mountain bike tires are generally under 2.0 inches wide, this SPECIALIZED model boasts a tire width of 4.6 inches—"two to three times that of a regular mountain bike." The tires are as thick as a motorcycle’s, making this giant feature a powerful weapon that turns the "Fat Boy" into an all-rounder. "It’s like a beach or all-terrain vehicle—you can ride it on roads, mountains, woods, beaches, or deserts. The large tires provide a bigger contact area and more friction, giving the bike better balance and stability, making it ideal for leisure riding," said Su Peng of SPECIALIZED. The bike is priced at 19,900 yuan and is not yet available for sale in China; it’s only on display this time.

The Asian Bicycle Exhibition runs for four days, with October 10-11 as Professional Public Days and October 12-13 as Public Days. Interested visitors can purchase tickets to attend, with adult tickets priced at 20 yuan and free entry for children under seven. The public days will feature cycling apparel shows, the Asian Cycling Queen Competition, BMX performances, and fixed-gear polo matches—perfect for kids to enjoy the sights too.
