The 2013 National Mass Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference and the 9th China Huangshan International Mountain Climbing Conference will be held on November 18 in the Huangshan Scenic Area. This event is also one of the key activities of the 17th Huangshan International Tourism Festival.
This mountain climbing conference is jointly organized by the Mountaineering Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Mountaineering Association, the Anhui Provincial Sports Bureau, and the People's Government of Huangshan City. With the theme "Beautiful China Starts from Huangshan," mountain climbing enthusiasts from government agencies, enterprises, institutions, universities, and international students across the country will set off from the Multi-functional Square at the South Gate, pass through Yungu Temple, and reach the North Sea Scenic Area Plaza. The full course is approximately 12 kilometers. The competition includes international, domestic youth, middle-aged and elderly, university, and Huangshan City groups, with awards given to the top eight teams and individuals in both men's and women's categories in each group.
The Huangshan International Mountain Climbing Conference is one of the international sports brand events that Huangshan City has been actively developing in recent years. It combines mountain adventure, fitness, entertainment, and sightseeing tourism. Since its first edition in 2005, it has attracted not only domestic mountain climbing enthusiasts but also participants from over 30 countries and regions, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and Chile.
