On October 13, 2013, a charity hiking event themed “Walk for Love, Benefit Body and Mind” kicked off at Xinghai Square in Dalian. Sponsored by Yunnan Dayi Group and co-organized by the Dalian Hiking Association, this charitable hiking journey blended the mellow aroma of Pu'er tea with the stunning coastal scenery.
Nearly 5,000 tea enthusiasts, hikers, and local Dalian residents from across the country participated in this hiking event. Dressed in vibrant charity-themed T-shirts and holding event flags, the participants marched energetically along the Dalian coastline, embarking on a grand journey for physical and mental well-being.
In addition to traditional hiking, the highlight of this event was the incorporation of numerous charitable and public welfare elements. The organizers aimed to encourage people to care for underprivileged students in an eco-friendly and healthy way, helping children in impoverished mountainous areas of Yunnan fulfill their dreams.
At the event site, a giant painting created by students from the Yunnan Dayi Hope Primary School was displayed, and along the route, dream postcards hand-drawn by children from poor mountainous regions were sold as fundraisers. All proceeds from the sales were donated to the Yunnan AAAA-level foundation “Dayi Love Foundation” to support underprivileged students in completing their education. Additionally, for every tea enthusiast who completed the 10 km hike, the organizing committee pledged to donate 10 yuan to the student aid fund, using this method to encourage participants to finish the hiking course. The “Dayi Carnival” is a cultural brand event established by Yunnan Dayi Group in 2011. With a carnival party in a different city each year and a unique theme, it brings a feast of tea culture to cities and their citizens, spreading the concept of healthy and joyful tea drinking.
