One more thing: an all-mountain or park ski with an 80mm waist can handle conditions at places like Beidahu, Chongli, or Yabuli when the snow is good. But if you switch to a powder ski that also performs decently on-piste, the floatation will definitely be better, and the skiing experience will be improved. After all, when the ski isn’t fully submerged in the snow and you rely on jumps and turns to get out, it requires a certain amount of strength and stamina. For those who prioritize the enjoyment of skiing, this might be a slight drawback. I see many people choosing powder skis close to their own height, which should be quite suitable for the snow conditions in these areas. However, every advantage has its downside—no single ski can adapt equally well to all depths of snow. It depends on what your focus will be in the future.
My feeling is that choosing the right ski and improving your physical ability are equally important. Going to an extreme in either area is regrettable.
