Yesterday, the 2014 Beijing Tourist Annual Pass began distribution citywide. Citizens can purchase the annual pass for 80 yuan, granting access to 57 scenic spots and saving over 2,200 yuan in admission fees.
The 2014 Beijing Tourist Annual Pass continues to be issued in pocket book format, with a total circulation of 60,000 copies, including 10,000 postcard editions suitable for collection. The 57 included attractions feature well-known sites such as the Colorful Butterfly Garden, Badaling Ancient Great Wall, Shuiguan Great Wall, Confucius Temple and Imperial College.
According to staff from the Beijing Tourist Annual Pass Office, considering that many forest parks in the suburbs of Beijing close during winter, this year’s selection has reduced the proportion of forest parks and increased the inclusion of cultural and humanistic attractions such as museums. The National Zoological Museum, Geological Museum, Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall, and Guo Moruo Memorial Hall are all included in the discount range. Additionally, this year’s annual pass also covers two attractions in Hebei Province: Zhongdu Grassland and Yesanpo Baicaopan.
Compared to previous years, this year’s Beijing Tourist Annual Pass features a more user-friendly design. The pass is organized by travel methods such as subway tours, bus tours, cycling tours, and self-driving tours, with 70% of the attractions accessible directly via public transportation. Furthermore, the pass is categorized by themes such as culture, science and technology, summer retreats, mountain climbing, flower viewing, autumn foliage, and grasslands, recommending the most suitable destinations for citizens to visit in different seasons.
Starting yesterday, the Beijing Tourist Annual Pass went on sale at newspaper stands in Beijing subway stations (excluding Line 4) and at various municipal parks across the city.
