Female rider, severely injured twice in falls, still wants to return to horseback

　　Riding a fine steed across vast open land is an incredibly exhilarating experience. But it also comes with hidden dangers—just one moment of carelessness can send you tumbling off the horse, leaving you battered and bruised. According to the UK's Daily Mail on December 8, recently, a 25-year-old British female rider named Christine Hewlett was thrown off her horse and seriously injured.

　　According to reports, during a riding lesson that day, the 9-year-old pony “Cher” suddenly arched its back and bucked, throwing Christine to the ground. Christine recalled feeling breathless and trying repeatedly to get up on her own, but ultimately failing. Her helmet was also smashed to pieces. The injured Christine was airlifted to hospital. Unfortunately, just like the last time, she was diagnosed with a first-degree spinal fracture. This marks the second time since 2011 that Christine has been severely injured in the spine after being thrown off by “Cher”. On the 2nd, Christine was discharged from hospital to go home. To aid in the recovery of her bone injury, she needs to lie flat for 22 hours a day and remain bedridden for at least six weeks.

　　But surprisingly, despite suffering two serious fractures, Christine doesn’t seem to be deterred and still says she will continue riding once recovered. Perhaps to avoid similar incidents, she also stated she won’t ride “Cher” again.
