Winter came before we knew it, and though we wanted to get out and relax, the thought of long journeys was too tiring, so we decided to soak in hot springs and just “laze around.” Many friends highly recommended attending the “Taizhou OCT Hot Spring Wellness Festival,” saying it was full of Thai flair. So last weekend, with our whole family of five—elderly included—all in one car, we experienced an unforgettable “Thai-style” hot spring wellness experience.
Transportation: 2.5-hour drive via expressway

We set off promptly at 8:30 am on Saturday. Following the route provided on the Taizhou OCT website, we first got on the Shanghai–Jiading Expressway, then transferred to the Riverside Expressway, crossed the Yangtze River Bridge, where we could see the mighty river and large ships, much to the delight of our 6-year-old son. Then we got on the Yancheng–Jingjiang Expressway heading towards Yancheng, exited at the Qintong exit, and in just 5 minutes we arrived at the entrance of Yunhai Hot Springs at Taizhou OCT. Checking the time, it was exactly 11 am. The whole expressway drive was smooth, and even the elderly said it wasn’t far and they weren’t tired.
