Jumping, grabbing, spinning 180°... On December 22nd, the Beidahu Ski Resort became a paradise for snowboard enthusiasts as the 8th annual World Snowboard Day 2013 wrapped up successfully. On this unique holiday for snowboarders, the resort’s professional equipment and diverse activities created a strong festive vibe. Fun snowboard jam sessions, professional TTR2 qualifier events, and leisure activities in five-star resort hotels made all participants truly “have an amazing time!”

Passion for Snowboarding – 4,000 Riders Gathered at Beidahu
As a global celebration of snowboarding, the World Snowboard Day has been successfully held eight times, sparking a worldwide craze for the sport. As one of the most beloved ski resorts among domestic enthusiasts, Beidahu certainly lived up to expectations by becoming China’s first ski resort to participate in the 2013 World Snowboard Day. To all participants, Beidahu also offered a free ski lift ticket for the day for pro snowboarders, attracting countless eager riders.

On the evening of the 20th, a special train carrying 150 participants of the Beijing departure for the World Snowboard Day at Beidahu officially departed from the capital, filled with laughter and joy. As the snow resort closest to a major city with over a million people, the Beidahu Ski Resort on the outskirts of Jilin City boasts convenient transportation. In addition to the special train from Beijing, many more snowboarders arrived by plane or regular train. At these stations, the resort arranged shuttle buses to pick them up, sparing riders the fatigue of travel and allowing them to fully enjoy the event.

When the event officially kicked off on the 22nd, Beidahu had transformed into a sea of joy, with around 4,000 snowboarders from all over coming together to show off their skills and share their passion for snowboarding. There were seasoned pros dazzling the crowds with impressive tricks, beginners forming groups to hone their techniques, couples enjoying romantic tandem rides, and competitive matches between various snowboard clubs... No matter what type of rider they were, everyone found their own joy amidst the snowy landscape of Beidahu.

Snowboarding Supreme – Exciting Events Ignite the World Snowboard Day
“I came to Beidahu for last year’s World Snowboard Day, and this year I felt there were even more participants and a stronger snowboarding culture. It’s all thanks to Beidahu’s thoughtful organization,” said one participant. Indeed, for this year’s World Snowboard Day, Beidahu made comprehensive preparations. In terms of facilities, the resort’s snowboard park was completely renovated, with its unique half-pipe and BOX areas becoming a playground for snowboard lovers. Meanwhile, 19 international slopes of varying difficulty, with a maximum vertical drop of 930 meters and a total length of about 37 kilometers, offered snowboarders a richer and more diverse skiing experience.

The event side was equally exciting. On the 22nd, the Fun Snowboard Jam Session attracted numerous participants who pulled off a wide range of challenging tricks, drawing cheers from the crowd. The performances by top snowboarders in the TTR qualifiers provided the audience with a spectacular visual treat that left everyone thrilled. In addition, considering many first-time snowboarders were attending, Beidahu introduced the globally leading Burton LTR (Learn-To-Ride) snowboarding teaching system, offering personalized instruction tailored to different types of riders.

At the same time, Beidahu’s thoughtful logistical support added a warm touch. Every rider who followed the “Beidahu Ski Resort” official WeChat account received a free can of Red Bull, providing sustained energy for a full day of riding. After skiing, participants could enjoy leisure activities such as spa, sauna, and yoga, along with delicious, well-prepared meals in the resort’s five-star hotel, achieving full physical and mental relaxation.
