The MobiGarden Antarctic Expedition set sail on November 22, 2013, traveling from Ushuaia, Argentina, aboard the cruise ship “Le Boreal” to the world’s last pristine land — Antarctica.
The area south of 60°S latitude is referred to as Antarctica. The climate there is characterized by extreme cold, strong winds, and dryness. The annual average temperature is -25°C, and the average temperature in the inland plateau is around -56°C, with an extreme low of -89.8°C recorded — the coldest landmass on Earth. For this Antarctic trip, MobiGarden provided explorers with professional-grade down jackets suitable for harsh, frigid climates. These jackets use XOPT-THERMA Teflon-waterproof down filling, and their lining features high-tech insulating and heat-retaining materials that lock in body warmth and prevent heat loss in extremely cold and severe conditions.
During the more than ten-day journey, the Antarctic trip not only allows us to experience the purest land on Earth and get up close with animals such as penguins, seals, and dolphins, but also lets us enjoy a prestigious Antarctic concert at Paradise Bay and the Great Wall Station performed by internationally renowned vocal artists and the Asia-Pacific Symphony Orchestra Alliance. Additionally, over ten special lectures, dialogues, and presentations focusing on Antarctica will be held during the expedition.
