Shanghai is China's largest economic hub, serving as the country’s center for economy, technology, industry, finance, trade, exhibitions, and shipping. It is also the leading city in the Yangtze River Delta, China's largest economic zone. In recent years, Shanghai’s fitness and wellness industry has been leading the nation, with rapidly growing demand among residents. The number of fitness clubs has been increasing at a rate of no less than 40 per year, indicating huge market potential. Recently, the State Council issued the "Several Opinions on Promoting the Development of the Health Service Industry." The document proposes striving to establish, by 2020, a health service system that covers the entire life cycle, is rich in content and well-structured, with the total scale of the health service industry reaching over 8 trillion yuan.
In recent years, the state has invested substantial resources in infrastructure such as community hospitals. The current push to develop the health service industry can be seen as a shift in healthcare reform from infrastructure construction toward enhancing services and achieving results from these investments. Currently, China’s nascent fitness industry is limited in scale but growing rapidly. Meanwhile, e-commerce, as a new economic model, is increasingly penetrating various fields, transforming traditional business models and influencing industrial restructuring.
From March 13 to 15, 2014, the "MBH 2014 China Fitness Industry Summit," hosted by the China National Leisure Sports Goods Association and MBH Fitness Industry Group, co-organized by the Beijing Fitness Equipment Distribution Association, and jointly organized by Beijing MBH Fitness Equipment Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Denah Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., will be held in the Conference and Activity Zones of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. Taking place during the 2014 China (Shanghai) Fitness & Rehabilitation Equipment Exhibition, this summit, themed “The Marketing Revolution in the E-era,” aims not only to broaden sales channels for fitness industry enterprises through e-commerce business models and elevate the application level of e-commerce within the industry but also to deliver a top-tier event featuring collisions of ideas and wisdom among industry elites, guiding innovative and profitable business models.
In addition to the thematic summit on "The Marketing Revolution in the E-era," this edition of the summit will also feature the inaugural “MBH Cup Fitness Trainers’ Best Physical Fitness Competition,” “Club Presidents’ Practical Role Model Sharing Session,” “Club Presidents’ Themed Salon,” and multiple marketing training workshops. The event will bring together authoritative leaders from industry associations, representatives of leading domestic fitness industry companies, major domestic e-commerce players, presidents of top national chain fitness clubs, specially invited lecturers from Tsinghua University’s CEO program / China’s top ten strategic marketing practitioners, and more.
