When on a business trip in an unfamiliar city, simply send your location via mobile phone to access nearby hotel information. After booking via mobile payment, you can check in directly upon arrival... These once-dreamed-of scenarios have now become reality thanks to the collaboration between WeChat and well-known hotel brands. This hotel has become the first in China to accept direct WeChat Pay payments.

WeChat users only need to follow the hotel’s official WeChat public account. In “My Bank Cards,” they can click “Add a Bank Card” and complete simple setup to activate WeChat Pay. Once activated, users can send their location information within the hotel’s public account to quickly find their desired branch. Tapping in allows them to select their preferred room type. By entering personal name, mobile number, and ID number and submitting the order, users can complete the reservation and payment via WeChat Pay—all within the hotel’s WeChat public account, making the process simple and convenient. For any accommodation issues, users can also communicate directly with online customer service in real time.

According to official WeChat data, besides this hotel brand, many large chain brands are also collaborating with WeChat and experimenting with the combination of “WeChat booking + WeChat Pay,” such as the restaurant chain Haidilao, the department store discount chain Shopin, the department store chain Tianhong, the convenience store chain 7-Eleven, and more.

According to the hotel’s management, since the launch of the hotel’s WeChat public account, nearly one million users have followed it, with 4,000–5,000 room bookings per day made via WeChat. On the evening of December 31st, the peak reached 10,000 bookings in a single day. Currently, 40% of users who book rooms via WeChat attempt to pay using WeChat Pay. Moreover, the order quality from the WeChat public platform is very high, with a successful check-in rate of up to 96% for WeChat-booked orders.

Booking hotels via WeChat enables customers to enjoy a fast, affordable, and convenient experience—short wait times, fair pricing, quick payments, and less hassle. At the same time, it brings orders to hotels while saving on related marketing, promotion, and labor costs.
