The governments of Yamanashi Prefecture and Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan officially implemented the World Heritage site Mount Fuji “entrance fee” scheme on the 22nd. Starting this summer, each visitor can voluntarily pay 1,000 yen (approximately $9.6). The fee is called the “Mount Fuji Conservation Cooperation Fund” and will be collected during the summer climbing season.
