The 10th ISPO BEIJING 2014, Asia’s leading trade fair for sports equipment and fashion, will be held again at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from February 19–22, 2014. Functional Textiles Trend Zone: Direct Access to Global Cutting-Edge Fabrics
The Functional Textiles Trend Release zone during ISPO BEIJING has attracted numerous designers, product managers, and industry media every year.
This year’s Functional Textiles Trend Zone will focus on functional innovation in fabrics and trend forecasting, featuring award-winning products from the ISPO Functional Textiles Trend Award, hosted by ISPO in Munich, Germany. Around 300 innovative fabrics from around the globe cover all aspects of functional textiles, including base layers, mid-layers, outer layers, materials, fibers and insulation, membranes, accessories, and soft gear. Their innovative technologies, eco-friendly concepts, and the innovations they will bring to future sportswear and fashion products will all be unveiled on-site. Meanwhile, trend forecasting for popular colors remains an important part of the zone, with the 2015/16 autumn/winter color card also being revealed.
Visitors can not only observe the cutting-edge fabrics and accessories in the textile and apparel industry up close, but also touch the exhibits to get a direct feel for the materials and experience the textile technology. Designers, R&D personnel, and product managers will gain plenty of inspiration for design and development directions, and can even use the fabrics displayed on-site as references for sourcing production materials for the next two seasons.
China Sports Fashion Trend Forum: A Forward-Looking Discussion on Fabric Trends
The China Sports Fashion Trend Forum is also one of the must-attend concurrent events at ISPO BEIJING. The new edition of the forum will be held on February 19 at the China National Convention Center, releasing and sharing research and predictions on trends in color, materials, and other application areas for the Chinese sports fashion industry in the coming year.
In collaboration with trend experts, ISPO conducts global research on the functional textiles industry and various trends that influence it. Industry experts such as fashion specialist and textile trend consultant Louisa Smith from WGSN, and Dr. Hu Junyan from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, have been invited to share insights and predict future innovations and changes in fabrics. The experts’ professional interpretations of the 2015/16 autumn/winter trend color card will also provide clearer guidance for color selection in future products.
In addition, the latest award-winning products from the newly announced global sports industry awards—the ISPO Award and the ISPO Functional Textiles Trend Award—will also be introduced at the forum. In-depth analysis of their concepts, fabrics, and technologies will offer important references for product R&D personnel.
ISPO Functional Textiles Trend Handbook: A Practical Reference
With the announcement of the ISPO Functional Textiles Trend Award results, the ISPO Functional Textiles Trend Handbook is released. It includes the 2015/16 autumn/winter trend color card predicted and released by internationally renowned industry experts, as well as cutting-edge innovative fabrics from around the world. Products are categorized into “Top Ten Products” and other selected items based on their categories and awards received, presented with high-definition images and detailed descriptions to ensure readers gain sufficient understanding of each product. This offers significant reference value for the specific work of designers and product managers.
