On Valentine's Day 2014, vacation rental bookings on Tujia were in high demand

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. This year’s “Valentine’s economy,” apart from traditional markets like flowers and gifts, has also shown some new features and trends — when it comes to accommodation choices for couples, vacation apartment bookings have been particularly brisk. Because this year’s Valentine’s Day coincides with the Lantern Festival and falls right before the weekend, many young people are traveling for Valentine’s Day, and quite a few of them have even booked vacation apartments for their parents so the elderly couple can enjoy the holiday too.

According to staff at Tujia.com, compared to the same period last year, bookings for vacation apartments on Valentine’s Day this year have increased by more than 120%. The reasons why couples choose Tujia apartments are largely the same: better cost-performance, with prices about half that of five-star hotels; larger and more private spaces; and a homely atmosphere with kitchens and washing machines. Especially the last point — couples can show off their cooking skills in the apartment kitchen and DIY a candlelit dinner, instantly creating a sweet and intimate ambiance.

To this end, our editors have compiled a list of vacation apartments currently running Valentine’s promotions on Tujia.com, hoping to help those looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day in this novel way make the right choice.
