At the ISPO Beijing exhibition on February 19, 2014, CamelBak, the pioneer of hands-free hydration systems, made a remarkable appearance. In addition to showcasing this year’s new products, Pacific Sales Manager Ian also gave an exclusive interview to HowToTrip.

HowToTrip: CamelBak is the No. 1 personal hydration system brand in the U.S. What has made it so successful? What are your expectations for the Chinese market?
CamelBak:The “Got Your Bak” philosophy is one of the reasons for CamelBak’s success. Originating from California, those who know the CamelBak brand understand that it’s a hydration brand, not just a water bottle brand. We hope to achieve the same growth in China as we have in the U.S.

HowToTrip:Sea to Summit represents CamelBak in both Australia and China. This kind of relationship is not common. What makes these two brands so closely aligned?
CamelBak: The relationship between the two companies is getting closer, and many values are shared. We continuously communicate CamelBak’s outdoor values to users. Sea to Summit makes excellent outdoor products and excels in store space design and product display, so they do very well in showcasing products—exactly what CamelBak looks for in a distributor. Plus, there is still great room for growth in China.

HowToTrip:What new products and technologies did CamelBak bring to this exhibition?
