As the most successful and comprehensive equestrian event in the Southern Hemisphere, covering all aspects of equestrian sports and the horse industry, the New Zealand Annual Horse Show will take place from March 18 to March 24, 2014.
The New Zealand Annual Horse Show has been officially included in the FEI (International Equestrian Federation) Nations Cup series. The event will feature 2,600 horses and more than 1,900 riders from around the world, competing in 18 different equestrian disciplines across 28 competition zones. Among them, the Olympic Cup is one of the most prestigious events in show jumping worldwide. The course for this competition was designed by the renowned course designer Leopoldo Palacios, who also designed the show jumping courses for the Sydney and Beijing Olympic Games. The winner of the event can take home a prize of up to $200,000. The show will be held at a venue spanning 8,000 square meters with a capacity for 74,000 spectators, and will also provide 220 trade booths for global businesses.
