The 2014 Nanjing International Vacation Travel & RV Show concluded successfully on March 16 at the Nanjing International Expo Center, where 356 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions put on an impressive live showcase in Nanjing, China.
Themed “Explore the World Without Leaving Home – Nanjing’s Vacation Carnival,” the show featured eight distinctive exhibition zones including vacation travel, RVs & SUVs, on-site flash sales, family entertainment, and classic cars. A wide variety of travel routes and vacation products were on display, while dance performances showcasing different cultures, stage shows, and industry promotion events and salons took turns entertaining the audience. The three-day event attracted 46,387 visitors.
On the first day of the show, Mr. Qin Jing’an, Director of Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Bureau, Mr. Jing Shengxian, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Bureau, Mr. Chen Gang, Vice Mayor of Nanjing Municipal People's Government, Mr. Jin Weidong, Director of Nanjing Municipal Tourism Commission, Ms. Xia Jun, Deputy Director of Nanjing Municipal Tourism Commission, Mr. Frank F. Verstraete, Senior Vice President of Messe Stuttgart GmbH, and Mr. Etienne Eschbach, Executive Director of Nanjing Stuttgart Joint Exhibition Co., Ltd., visited the site.

Various thematic conferences held alongside the show, such as the “2014 Nanjing International Vacation Travel & RV Show Car Enthusiasts’ Salon,” “2014 Nanjing International Vacation Travel & RV Show Self-Drive Travel Development Salon,” and “2014 Yangtze River Delta Leisure Vacation Trends Release Conference,” attracted many industry professionals and distinguished guests. On-site promotional events including the Kunshan Tourist Resort Promotion Conference, Egyptian Tourism Product Promotion Conference, and the 2014 China (Nanjing) Spring Self-Drive Travel Product Promotion Conference and the Launch Ceremony of the Jiangsu Chapter of China Travel Hotline Self-Drive Alliance were lively and fruitful.

On the stage area, performances such as Malaysian ethnic dances, the large-scale dance “Spring River Flower Moon Night,” Southern Thai dances, Argentine tango, and minority dances from the Ancient Ya Capital took turns dazzling the audience, pushing the atmosphere of the show to successive climaxes.

The show also hosted parent-child interactive activities including the “Traveling the World with My Daughter” parenting sharing session, FM102.4’s large-scale interactive activity “Little Bargain Hunters,” and the children’s art event “Children’s Monthly Creative Scroll Painting.” A special children’s carnival entertainment zone was set up, allowing families with kids and parents interested in “parent-child travel” to find fun at the show.

Many exhibitors brought a variety of promotional products to the show for on-site sales, such as domestic and international travel packages, resort hotels, hot springs, and other travel products. In the RV zone in Hall D, major RV brands from both China and abroad made a luxurious appearance. Brands such as Hobby, Reimo, DEX, Great Wall, Chuntian, Dream Tour, and Yate had extremely brisk sales, with on-site RV transactions exceeding 6 million RMB. Daily lucky draws, outdoor RV experience activities, and global cinemas further enlivened the atmosphere.

The next edition of the show will be held in May 2015 at the Nanjing International Expo Center. Spring is in the air—see you next year!

This show received positive feedback from both exhibitors and attendees:
Christian, General Manager of Truma Mechanical Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.: “This year, we had about twice as many clients showing interest in our products compared to last year. Also, the organizers invited two new exhibitors, and I was very happy to talk with them.”

Stefano Bonometti, Representative of Hobby RV Group: “I think this combination of travel and RVs, the way holidays are created and experienced, is perfect. So far, our collaboration has been great. We participated in a wonderful event, and I am convinced that together with our European and Chinese partners, we will grow in China and make this event our regional holiday destination.”

Bian Lingli, Assistant General Manager of Nanjing Dexing Automobile Modification Co., Ltd.: “We signed several orders at this show. We will participate again next year and use this platform to promote the RV industry.”

Wanda Hilton: “This show had a very large influence and scale, and provided us with a great platform.”

Zhou Xiaofeng, Invited Buyer from Suzhou Overseas Travel Agency: “The show was generally well run. It gave me exposure to new things like RVs, and allowed for in-depth business exchanges with many ground operators. I was booked for all eight time slots of the reverse matchmaking meetings, and the interactions were pleasant. I would accept the invitation again and attend next year’s meeting.”

Audience member from Wuhan: “I thought it was quite good. There are many exhibitions in Wuhan, but none as well-run as this one in terms of scale, orderliness, and service. I’ll come again next year.”
