In 2015, ISPO BEIJING—the world’s leading trade platform for sporting goods and Asia’s premier sports and fashion exhibition—will take place earlier than in previous years, from January 28 to 31, 2015 (Wednesday to Saturday), still at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.
With the Lunar New Year falling on February 19, 2015, a holiday period lasting approximately two weeks would inevitably conflict with the usual timing of the exhibition if it were held at its regular time. Postponing the show to mid-March would not align with the ordering cycles of many exhibitors. Therefore, Messe München, the organizer of ISPO BEIJING, has decided to hold ISPO BEIJING 2015 before the Spring Festival.
Klaus Dittrich, President and CEO of Messe München, said: “The change in the exhibition date is a decision made after consulting with clients and partners and reaching a consensus.” This means that ISPO BEIJING 2015 will closely follow the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City, USA, and for the first time, will be held before ISPO MUNICH (February 5–8, 2015, in Munich).

The recently concluded ISPO BEIJING 2014—the 10th edition of Asia’s premier sports and fashion exhibition—attracted 29,683 professional visitors (+8%) and featured 637 brands from 22 countries (+12%), covering a full range of sports categories including action sports, outdoor activities, skiing, and sports fashion. Compared to the 153 brands at its inaugural edition, the growth of ISPO BEIJING over the past decade is remarkable. The great success of ISPO BEIJING 2014 has also significantly boosted confidence in China’s sporting goods industry.

/// ISPO BEIJING 2014 Exhibitor Feedback
Mr. Chen Shaoli, General Manager of Outdoor Sports China, Amer Sports Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Salomon)
We have participated in many editions of ISPO MUNICH in Germany, but this is our first time at ISPO BEIJING. It’s a great opportunity to let more Chinese industry consumers know about our brand. ISPO BEIJING plays a significant role in China’s outdoor industry. Many people come to the show to understand industry trends, changes, and discover new brands.
Mr. Martin Netinder, Emerging Markets Sales Director, Peak Performance
This year we are very happy to participate in ISPO BEIJING for the first time. Our goal is to showcase our brand and introduce our products to an Asian audience. ISPO BEIJING provided us with an excellent platform to achieve these goals. We are satisfied with the number of visitors, and we plan to make our partnership with ISPO BEIJING a long-term one.
Mr. Israel Maynard, General Manager China, Burton (Beijing) Trading Co., Ltd.
We are very glad to be here. For me personally, this is my second time at ISPO BEIJING. I feel that this year’s show is very different from last year’s—both the quantity and quality of visitors are better. This year, ISPO BEIJING has attracted more retailers, department stores, traders, and enthusiasts from the outdoor and winter sports industries. This allows us to interact more directly with our Chinese customers.
Mr. Nicolas Warchalowski, HAGL
This is our third time participating in ISPO BEIJING. The 2011 ISPO BEIJING helped us find a very good partner. We are very pleased to have been able to open up our brand in China and gain more attention through ISPO BEIJING. The exhibition is becoming increasingly well-known in China, and professionals in the outdoor industry have long been aware of this event. At the show, you can see many competing brands, but ISPO BEIJING has created a positive environment for us, so we welcome this kind of friendly and mutually encouraging competition.
Mr. Matthias Preussel, MAMMUT, Head of Far East Sales
We only established our branch in China last year, which is why we started participating in ISPO BEIJING so late. But we hope to have long-term cooperation with ISPO BEIJING. This year, there were more visitors and exhibitors at the show, and ISPO BEIJING has become more international. From my personal experience, there were noticeably more European and American attendees compared to last year. Overall, the growth is quite good.
Mr. Claes Broqvist, Odlo, International Sales Director
ISPO BEIJING is a great exhibition. It enjoys high visibility and influence in Asia, which is why we come here to exhibit. This year, both the quantity and quality of the audience were very good, and there were many competing companies, both domestic and international. Through the exhibition, we can meet them, learn about them, and gain a lot from them. It’s a great opportunity for our improvement.
From January 28–31, 2015, ISPO BEIJING looks forward to meeting you in Beijing, at the China National Convention Center. See you there!
