Since its launch on April 4, the GREGORY Roots Journey Chinese Style Design Sprint has received enthusiastic submissions from netizens across various fields. After nearly a month of work collection and selection, the design works of fashion design team MYGE and designer @ogyala from Sina Weibo stood out to become the winning entries of this Chinese style design competition.
The MYGE design team incorporated traditional Chinese elements such as indigo dyeing, patchwork fabrics, cracked porcelain, line drawing, and the most iconic Chinese symbols—the dragon and tiger—into the backpack design. Combined with bold street-style patchwork techniques and camouflage patterns, the design fully showcases the collision between Eastern and Western cultures.

The winning designer will become a signed designer for GREGORY China and will travel to Japan with the organizer CORA Corporation (GREGORY’s general agent in China) at the end of May to exchange and learn with the GREGORY Japan design team. The signing ceremony for the designer will also take place there. The winning design is expected to be produced in a limited edition, launched and sold domestically, and will feature the designer’s signature.
