On May 11, the “Capital Universities Alpine Skiing Pursuit Race” saw fierce competition at Beijing Qiaobo Indoor Skiing Park. Although it was drizzling that day, it did not dampen the enthusiasm of the university students, with over 150 participants from more than 20 capital universities such as Tsinghua University and Peking University competing in both men’s and women’s alpine skiing events for single and double boards.
This event was jointly organized by the Chinese Ski Association and the Beijing University Sports Association, aiming to promote mass skiing participation and support the Olympic bid. It received strong support from the Mass Winter Sports Department of the General Administration of Sport of China and Beijing Qiaobo Indoor Skiing Park, and this was the second consecutive year it has been held. Compared to last year, many new faces appeared this year, and the skill level of the participants had significantly improved. In the end, Zhang Zhang from Peking University, Wang Junxin from China Youth University for Political Sciences, Liu Weiwei from Beihang University, and Zhu Peihao from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology won the championships in women’s double board, men’s double board, women’s single board, and men’s single board respectively.
