The “China Association for Quality Quality Technology Award” was established in 2005 and is evaluated annually to recognize organizations or individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of quality technology. Approved by the National Office for Science and Technology Award Administration, the annual award-winning projects are selected through evaluation by the China Association for Quality Quality Technology Award Review Committee.
It is understood that New Century Hotels & Resorts’ specific winning project for the “2013 China Association for Quality Quality Technology Award” was the “Quality Improvement Project for Banquet Service Staff Based on QFD, KANO, and QCC.” In response to guest satisfaction issues regarding banquet service staff, in early 2012, the group formed a project team to enhance the quality of banquet servers using the QCC process. Leveraging Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology and the KANO model, the project team explored guest needs through in-depth interviews and surveys, and trained a group of highly skilled “Senior Banquet Service Professionals.” To solidify the results, the company developed the “Fourteen Basic Quality Requirements for Senior Banquets” and the “New Century Hotels Senior Banquet Service Professional Promotion Plan,” which outlined details such as “selection criteria, training curriculum and scheduling, assessments, and compensation systems.” The project implementation yielded significant economic, management, and social benefits, markedly improving satisfaction levels among banquet service staff.
