As the third International Fair of Trade in Services – Sports (CIFTIS-Sports) exhibition draws near, China is preparing to introduce international sporting events to the capital, Beijing.
The International Fair of Trade in Services – Sports is organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports and will take place from May 28 to June 1 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.
The exhibition will provide international sports brands with an opportunity to tap into China’s rapidly growing sports market. During the event, exhibitors can connect with over 20 national sports bureaus, such as the General Administration of Sport of China, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Sports, Shanxi Provincial Sports Bureau, Fujian Provincial Sports Bureau, and Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau. Also participating will be heavyweight organizations in the sports industry, including China Sports Industry Group, Beijing Huanxin Venture Capital Co., Ltd., Adidas, CCTV-Sports. Guest speakers will come from the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, the Organizing Committee of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics (South Korea), NBA China, Beijing Sport University, Le.com, and more.
De Lu Fa, General Manager of China Surf Report (CSR), will share insights on the overview of Chinese surf media and the development of surfing in China during the exhibition. Joe Bretzke (from Hawaii), head of the Chinese branch of the Surfrider Foundation (Coastal Defenders Organization), will discuss how people in China can enjoy better marine environments through ocean conservation efforts, research, and public education.
The third International Fair of Trade in Services will broaden the horizons of international brand companies, help them understand development strategies, and allow them to become more familiar with China’s emerging sports market. Exhibitors will have priority access to government support, which will further facilitate the achievement of their development goals.
The Chinese sports market is one of the fastest-growing in the world. The emergence of many professional sports associations, such as the Chinese Basketball Association, the Chinese Football Association Super League, and the Chinese Volleyball League, has laid a solid foundation for the development of the sports sector in China. Beijing has been committed to hosting world-class competitions and is also seeking the opportunity to co-host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
