On the afternoon of June 15 at 14:00, at the Laoshan Velodrome, 30 road and mountain biking enthusiasts gathered here as the “New Cool Shots Fun Cycling” Sony Action Cam AS100V cycling experience sharing event, jointly organized by the Readers’ Club of Outdoor Magazine and Sony, kicked off.

Nowadays, sports videography is becoming increasingly popular. Whether skiing, rock climbing, speed riding, diving, skydiving, or cycling, a high-quality wearable camera can capture every moment of outdoor activities from unique perspectives. Cycling and cool shots were the two main themes of this cycling experience sharing event. To provide participants with a better cycling and filming experience, the organizers specially invited cycling stars such as Peng Lei, leader of the Off-Road Sunshine cycling team, and Liu Dean, an experienced long-distance cyclist. They had previously used the Sony Action Cam AS100V wearable camera to film short mountain and road cycling videos, and shared their cycling experiences and shooting insights on-site.

One of the cycling star guests, Liu Dean, has 20 years of long-distance cycling experience. He shared an exciting micro-movie about road cycling. In the video, you’ll find that Sony Action Cam AS100V can be mounted on various parts of the bike. When cycling through picturesque mountains, there’s no need for manual intervention—you just ride, and the Action Cam automatically records the beautiful scenery around you. With a bit of creativity and some unique angles, the entire video becomes quite captivating. “So cool!” was the most frequent comment from the audience.

Next came the highlight of the event—the cycling experience session. Participants were divided into road and mountain biking groups and headed to the road and mountain tracks in Laoshan Park. Led by cycling stars, they enjoyed the thrill of wild cycling and experienced the unique outdoor footage captured by the Sony wearable camera from distinctive angles.

Mountain biking is a highly thrilling sport where riders face various challenging sections, harsh weather, and unexpected situations. Techniques such as riding posture, skills, and protection also involve considerable expertise. Meng Qingyu, a mountain biker who has achieved multiple successes in domestic mountain bike leagues, demonstrated and explained in detail key points of cycling such as how to pedal on uphill and downhill sections, brake force distribution, and maintaining riding posture. Despite the short time, everyone gained valuable insights.

Meanwhile, the on-site staff had already mounted the AS100V on each participant’s bike. The cycling enthusiasts adjusted their wrist-mounted real-time monitors and began to experience recording the most interesting outdoor footage from their own unique perspectives.

While mountain bikes soared over slopes, road cyclists were taking turns to break their own speed records. After the experience, one rider excitedly said, “I strapped the Sony Action Cam AS100V to my bike axle and captured the feeling of the wheels spinning rapidly on the ground—that’s the shot I’ve always wanted!”

A seemingly delicate girl, also a beginner in mountain biking, said, “Although I’m not very skilled at biking yet, I think using the Action Cam to film while riding is really fun. If the seniors can film more videos for me to watch, I’m sure my skills will improve a lot.”

The final segment was reserved for the lucky draw. More than ten lucky participants received generous prizes, and the luckiest of all was road cycling enthusiast Sun Fei, who won a brand-new Sony Action Cam AS100V wearable camera. He said, “I’ve been planning to buy a sports camera to record fun cycling moments and share my joy with family and friends. I never expected to be so lucky today!”
