Dandong Hosts Its First Camping Festival
From June 21–22, the “First Dandong Camping Festival,” jointly organized by the Dandong Sports Federation and the Dandong Mountaineering Association, was held at Wulong Mountain Scenic Area. As a major outdoor event for Sino-Korean exchange and the largest of its kind in Northeast China, the festival gathered mountaineering associations, outdoor associations, and outdoor clubs from Korea, Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang to share experiences and insights.
The festival took place in Wulong Mountain, known for its elegant natural scenery and profound cultural heritage. Since ancient times, both Buddhism and Taoism have established temples here. Wulong Mountain is famed for its majesty, perilous cliffs, serene valleys, unique rock formations, and breathtaking views, making it one of the renowned bases for outdoor hiking activities in Liaoning Province.
The Dandong Camping Festival has been designated by the Dandong Municipal Sports Bureau as an annual celebration for outdoor sports enthusiasts. While congratulating the success of this year’s event, we also look forward to an even better festival next year.
