Tourism Center / Comprehensive Report
September brings a "September snowfall" to Daxi — the pleasant late summer and early autumn weather makes it a great time to visit Taoyuan. During the blooming season of Chinese chive flowers, in addition to seizing the chance to admire the rare sight of a "snowy expanse," don’t miss the opportunity to get to know Daxi better and explore its charm. You can also connect with several nearby natural attractions to plan a relaxing one-day light trip — all for just NT$100 for the whole day.
Daxi Old Tea Factory
After renovation, the Daxi Old Tea Factory retains its original Japanese, Chinese, and British architectural styles, including wooden trusses, blue-gray windows designed for ventilation, and tea-making equipment. On the second floor, 151 intersecting cypress wood trusses paired with colorful metal chairs create a visually expansive space, making it one of the popular spots for photo shoots and a great place to slow down and enjoy tea.

Daxi Old Street
Daxi is one of the earliest developed areas in Taoyuan. During the Japanese colonial period, various shops gathered here, blending Baroque ornamentation with traditional Minnan decorative patterns — including Greek pediments, Roman columns, and Chinese motifs like fish and bats symbolizing good fortune — creating a unique Daxi style. Today’s Daxi Old Street not only offers many local snacks but also features numerous traditional craft shops that enrich its Taiwanese heritage, making it lively and fun.

Maze Alley (Caodianwei)
Located next to Furen Temple on Peace Old Street, this narrow, winding alley feels like stepping into an unpredictable historical maze. The weathered red bricks and time-worn cement walls on both sides reveal intriguing stories of the old town, making it a hidden gem for taking atmospheric and hipster-style photos.

Hou Cihu (Back Tzu Chi Lake)
Shrouded in mystery, Hou Cihu has been opened to the public following the lifting of military restrictions. The park trail starts from the side entrance of Cihu, crosses a small hill, and spans about two kilometers. Along the way, the scenery is captivating, and there’s even a forest bathing trail lined with Taiwan’s endemic Hinoki cypress trees. Strolling here while admiring the reflection of Hou Cihu is incredibly relaxing.

The Taiping Red Bridge is a historic structure connecting Sankengzi and Taiping Village. Built in 1923 (Taisho 12), this famous Japanese-era relic was constructed with red bricks and tiles. Over the years, the aged bricks have borne countless footsteps and quietly tell the stories of history, allowing future generations to witness the enduring beauty of time standing still.
