Limited autumn scenery: Vast orange persimmon-drying fields become a rustic Taiwanese beauty

When it comes to autumn foods, besides the mouthwatering, plump and rich crabs, sweet and delicious persimmons are also an essential seasonal treat. Soft and chewy fresh persimmons, once ripe, can be dried into tasty dried persimmons. The traditional persimmon-drying process, captured from above by aerial photographers, showcases the classic charm of Taiwan.

Located in HanKengli, Xinpian Township, Hsinchu County, Weijia Persimmon Cake produces over 200 persimmon trees across approximately three hectares of orchard on its own mountain. In autumn, when the persimmons ripen, the mountainside turns a spectacular red. Their generations-old persimmon-drying techniques are passed down through the family, using traditional methods involving sun-drying and wood-fired baking to produce delicious autumn persimmon cakes.

During the persimmon harvest season in autumn, aside from processed goods like persimmon cakes and dried persimmons, visitors can also enjoy healthful persimmon-dried chicken soup, fruit-filled persimmon ice pops, and participate in activities such as persimmon dyeing, pottery painting, making persimmon dolls, and hand-weaving persimmon crafts. Viewed from above, the rustic Hakka-style persimmon-drying scenery has become a unique scenic beauty of Taiwan.
