One triathlete, three supporters — the relay format brings positive energy
The upcoming 2014 "Mountain Hardwear Cup" 15th Sanfo Outdoor Triathlon in Jinhaihu, Pinggu, Beijing, will have 412 participants, with 78 relay teams competing in the experience group. This iconic outdoor triathlon has been successfully held for 14 editions and is making its second appearance in Jinhaihu, Pinggu. Unlike other domestic triathlons, this event features an experience group where three teammates can complete the race in relay format, but each team must include at least one member of the opposite sex. This unique feature adds a distinctive outdoor spirit to the competition, highlighting camaraderie, teamwork, sharing, coordination, and collective effort. It also fulfills the wishes of many who can't complete all three disciplines alone. By inviting friends to join and creating catchy team names, participants focus on challenging their own limits rather than competing for rankings. This is the charm of outdoor sports and the very purpose of the Sanfo Outdoor Triathlon.
The era of triathlon competitions has arrived — life without a triathlon is incomplete!

When China’s top triathlete and chief advisor of the event, Mr. Dang Qi, saw so many raised hands, he exclaimed, “Wow!” He then added humorously, “Congratulations on having the courage to take on triathlon, a sport full of thrills and challenges. And welcome to the triathlon family.” He said, “Once you join the triathlon family, you never leave. It’s a captivating sport.” “Though many think it’s tough, as long as you enjoy it, it will bring you the best experiences.” This six-time defending champion of the event, a top figure in the field, is serving as the chief advisor for this year’s race. To prepare insightful content for the sharing session, Mr. Dang Qi rushed to Jinhaihu for a warm-up run just before heading to the U.S. to compete in the CDA Ironman. He completed the entire course. In the eyes of this triathlon expert, life without a triathlon is incomplete!
