Wang Chunlu, Director of the Mass Ice and Snow Sports Department of the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, Yang Jun, Deputy Director of the Mass Ice and Snow Sports Department of the General Administration of Sport of China, and Xu Bin, General Manager of Beijing Qiaobo Indoor Skiing Arena, attended this grand event. The whole scene was truly star-studded, leaving a deep impression on the children attending the summer camp.

On the morning of that day11at exactly, Liu Ning, Senior Manager of the Marketing Department of Beijing Qiaobo Ice and Snow World Sports Development Co., Ltd., announced the opening of the summer camp. At the same time, leaders from the General Administration of Sport also expressed high hopes for the youths participating in this event, and the guests also demonstrated their excellent skiing skills on site. This China Youth Alpine Skiing Summer Camp aims to cultivate young people's love for skiing and inspire their passion for the sport through the professional skiing teaching and training offered by Qiaobo, while also nurturing talent for China's ice and snow sports and promoting the popularization and development of ice and snow sports across the country.

This is already the7th year that the Qiaobo Indoor Skiing Arena has hosted skiing winter and summer camps. As the only training base in Beijing that offers all-season skiing along with professional skiing training and instruction, the Qiaobo Indoor Skiing Arena has a specialized ski school and a strong team of ski instructors. It is precisely for this reason that the General Administration of Sport chose such an important summer camp to be held at Qiaobo. After5days4and nights of learning, the young campers will master solid skiing skills and receive an alpine skiing level certificate issued by the Chinese Ski Association.

This summer camp has also drawn the attention of Ms. Ye Qiaobo, a legend in the short track speed skating community and the initiator of the Qiaobo Indoor Skiing Arena. When talking about her own ice and snow sports career and her expectations for the sport, Ye Qiaobo spoke with deep emotion. She said:

“By a chance opportunity, I embarked on the path of ice and snow sports. And this sport seems tailor-made for me, opening a new chapter in my life. Ice and snow sports launched my professional career, and from then on, I began striving toward the dream of becoming a national champion. With my passion and love for ice and snow sports, and years of hard work, I eventually became the first Asian to win an Olympic medal in winter sports. Looking back on these years, only the words ‘moved,’ ‘grateful,’ and ‘reflective’ can describe my feelings. Moved by the honors given to me; grateful for the help from leaders, coaches, and audiences; reflective of the changes in times and society over these years. Today’s youth have more opportunities, choices, and better skiing conditions than I did back then, and they also have more passion and dreams. I believe that ice and snow sports will be passed on among these students who have boundless passion and dreams, and the future of China’s ice and snow sports development lies in your hands.” Speaking of this, Ye Qiaobo spoke with great confidence.

Speaking of Beijing’s bid for the Winter Olympics, Ye Qiaobo said:

“This is a very good thing. The Winter Olympics will allow the world to understand China even better. If the bid is successful, Beijing will become the only city to have hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics, which will greatly enhance our national pride; the Olympics will also leave behind a rich legacy, keeping people passionate about sports. Currently, Beijing’s existing skiing facilities are largely able to meet the requirements, and the snow events will also have a positive impact on the economy of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Young friends will also benefit from it.”
