On August 7, 2014, Sony (China) Co., Ltd. launched its entry-level "Action Cam" wearable high-definition camera HDR-AS20. From professional 4K video systems used to broadcast FIFA World Cup events to tiny HD cameras that can be worn on the ear, Sony has leveraged its extensive professional expertise to excel in every corner of the imaging market, and has launched four "Action Cam" models in just two years, creating a new landscape in the wearable camera market.

The newly released entry-level model HDR-AS20 retains the outstanding performance of the AS30V. The new camera is equipped with Sony’s proprietary Exmor R CMOS image sensor and Zeiss...

A wide range of accessories continuously enhance the fun of “Action Cam”

Creative shooting, cool videos made easy

Among the many accessories for the “Action Cam” wearable cameras, the most eye-catching is the RM-LVR1 wrist-mounted real-time monitor. Especially impressive is the fact that one monitor can simultaneously control up to five “Action Cam” HDR-AS100V or HDR-AS30V units, offering creative shooters who love multi-angle footage an exciting experience — and the entry-level HDR-AS20 also supports this feature. The newly released HDR-AS20 delivers shooting performance that is no less capable than the HDR-AS30V, with uncompromised video quality, yet at a much lower cost. By using one GPS-enabled HDR-AS30V or HDR-AS100V as the “master” unit and multiple entry-level HDR-AS20s as “sub” units, this setup saves costs while optimizing results. With the PMH software, you can easily create multi-angle videos that include complete motion trajectories.

As outdoor activities and water sports grow increasingly popular, wearable cameras — the “new kids on the block” in the digital imaging world — have seen rapid development. As a leader in imaging technology, Sony continues to expand its “Action Cam” wearable camera lineup, infusing the wearable camera field with its high-quality imaging DNA and leading the entire industry forward. The launch of the HDR-AS20 allows even more users to effortlessly showcase their own unique perspectives and share distinctive views.

Sony’s entry-level “Action Cam” wearable camera, the HDR-AS20, will soon be available for pre-sale, with a limited-time promotional price of 999 RMB.
