On August 23, the “Hiking in Yanqing to Cheer for the Winter Olympics Bid” 2014 Beijing Hiking Carnival and Yanqing International Hiking Festival was successfully held at Wild Duck Lake in Yanqing. Over 5,000 hiking enthusiasts from Beijing and Zhangjiakou participated, using green travel to support the joint Beijing-Zhangjiakou bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics. During the event, HowToTrip provided full technical support for the route.
The event was jointly organized by the Communist Youth League Municipal Committee, China Sports Publishing Group, Yanqing County, and the Beijing Hiking Association. In addition, the Beijing Hiking Association officially certified the lakeside loop road and wetland walking trails of Wild Duck Lake National Wetland Park as a “Municipal Recommended Hiking and Walking Trail,” adding another great leisure and fitness destination to the beautiful Yanqing, known as the “Gallery of Beijing.”
