Guangzhou’s elevation is 43.4, while Mount Kailash stands at 6656. Here we go.
The two key words of life are “living” and “freedom.” On this heavenly road, they shed their heavy disguises to pursue their own personal freedom and break through their limits.
It is also this freedom that takes them from 43.4 in search of their own 6656.
It is precisely because of this shared philosophy that Trailblazers provided excellent gear for this journey. Trailblazers means “a group of people who love the outdoors and discovering themselves.” At the same time, they go “to find a version of themselves that seemed impossible!”
TOREAD is a fusion of the English words “To Read,” which means to read and perceive with heart — just like our graphic logo full of humanistic sentiment. The meaning behind the English name is equally thought-provoking. For those who journey outdoors, physical exertion is not the goal; it is the reading and understanding of nature that is the soul’s aspiration. The vastness of nature is limitless, humanity’s capacity for understanding is limitless, and so is freedom.
Why go to Tibet to circumambulate a mountain?
Which mountain are we circumambulating? How is it done?
How difficult is the circumambulation?
How long does it take to complete?
First, let’s see which mountain we’re talking about.
The mountain to be circumambulated is Mount Kailash (Mount Kailash, elevation 6721 meters), the second highest peak of the Gangdise Mountains.
For mountain climbers, apart from the thrill of gazing at the steel-like, intoxicating giant peaks and mountain shapes before and after reaching the summit, what is even more enticing is the chance to witness the world-class grandeur of a snow-capped peak with eternal snows — the kind of awe it brings to the soul. And the joy of pumping your fists and shouting “I finally made it to the top!” afterward, that feeling of rebirth, can be summed up in one word~~~awesome~~~~
Of course, this circumambulation doesn’t require climbing to 6721 meters, because if you try to summit, many people will beat you up, and you won’t have the guts to try again ~~haha~~
In Tibetan, Kailash means “Mountain of the Gods,” and in Sanskrit, it means “Shiva’s Paradise” (Shiva being the principal god of Hinduism). It is recognized as the center of the world by Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, the indigenous Tibetan religion of Bon, and the ancient Jain religion.
Therefore, the greatest wish in a Tibetan’s life is to circumambulate the sacred Mount Kailash at least once~
Indians call this mountain Kailash and believe it to be the center of the world. Shiva, the most powerful and highest-ranking of the three main gods in Hinduism, resides here. Moreover, the headwaters of India’s Indus and Ganges rivers both originate here, so you can spot many Indian pilgrims at Mount Kailash!!
So, circumambulating the mountain means walking around this sacred peak at the center of the world — Mount Kailash~~
But where is Mount Kailash exactly?
Take a look at the geographical map. Point A is Mount Kailash (to the upper left of Nepal), and Point B is Lhasa in Tibet.
