The Mount Tai International Mountaineering Festival is held every mid-September. With crisp autumn air, beautiful scenery, and convenient transportation, it has become a well-known large-scale tourism festival in China in recent years. Since the first Mount Tai International Mountaineering Festival was held in September 1987, it has been held annually. Guests from around the world and domestic visitors as well as mountaineering enthusiasts gather to participate in various festival activities, such as hiking competitions and cycling mountaineering races. There are also a variety of colorful cultural and artistic events, including performances of outstanding historical and cultural songs and dances of Mount Tai, the "Purple Qi Coming from the East" performance reenacting the imperial Fengshan ceremony of the Song Dynasty, the "Tai'an Photography Art Exhibition," the "Mount Tai Stone Culture Exhibition," the "Mount Tai Cultural Relics and Treasures Exhibition," the "Mount Tai Bonsai Exhibition," and the "Mount Tai Painting Exhibition."
