Recently, the organizing committee officially revealed the true forms of the competition’s trophies, medals, and a variety of commemorative items. The ingenious creative concepts and the design philosophy that blends the spirit of the event with local cultural elements truly left viewers in awe.

Gift Name: Discovery Road Purple Clay Cup
Gift Material: Purple clay from Yixing, Jiangsu
Gift Concept: “Of all the treasures in the world, none compare to the finest Yixing purple clay!” Yixing purple clayware is known for its fine clay texture, rich color variations, innovative shapes, and diverse decorations, achieving a perfect blend of artistry and functionality. Coupled with the benefits of brewing tea in purple clay cups (or teapots) and the cultural notion of “tea and Zen as one,” it adds an elegant and refined charm. To allow participants and guests of the Discovery Road competition to deeply experience the essence of discovery and thus better cleanse the mind and discover anew during the Guolei exploration journey, the Discovery Road organizing committee specially collaborated with Master Wang Chengjun—an internationally awarded senior craft artist, recipient of the International Peace Contribution Award, president of the Jiangsu Branch of the Love Association, art director at Longshi Ju Teapot Art Center, outstanding young purple clay artist in China, member of the China Arts and Crafts Society, and dean of the Chinese Youth Painting and Calligraphy Academy under the Communist Youth League Central Committee—to custom-create a purple clay cup bearing the competition’s logo through the Wang Chengjun Purple Clay Art Gallery. It is hoped that participants will gain a deeper understanding of the profound value of the Discovery Road and also appreciate the time-honored culture of Chinese purple clay.
