Reporters have learned from the Hainan Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hainan Mountaineering Association that the Baoting Station of the 2014 National Mass Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference will take place on the 27th at the Qixianling National Forest Park in Baoting County, Hainan Province. Over 3,000 mass mountain climbing enthusiasts and 200 professional athletes from across the country will climb Hainan’s Qixianling.

According to reports, this event consists of two main categories: mass mountain climbing and fitness, and professional mountain climbing competitions. The mass climbing route starts at Qixian Square in Baoting County, Hainan, and ends at Roundabout Square, covering a total distance of 7,000 meters. The professional climbing competition includes a mountain bike uphill segment (Qixian Square – Qixianling Trailhead, total length 11,000 meters) and a hiking segment (Qixianling Trailhead – Qixianling Second Peak Platform, total length 2,300 meters).
The professional competition is divided into men’s and women’s categories. The top 40 finishers in each category will receive corresponding prize money and certificates, with the top three in each group awarded 10,000 yuan, 8,000 yuan, and 6,000 yuan respectively.
The National Mass Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference is a mass fitness activity initiated by the Mountaineering Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China to adapt to new trends in mountaineering and meet the evolving needs of climbing enthusiasts. Since 2002, the conference has been held for 12 consecutive years, with participation from nearly 20 provinces and cities each year. It has been held three times in Hainan Province.
