The new wing is located from the B1 to 7F of the “Nihonbashi Takashimaya Mitsui Building,” which was completed in June 2018.Its business scope covers a full range of department store offerings including international high-end brands, apparel, cosmetics, jewelry, household goods, restaurants, and leisure entertainment. There’s the over 660-square-meter TOMORROWLAND store, the flagship store of UNION LAUNCH, THE NORTH FACE, journal standard Furniture, and more; for food, there’s the popular bakery “365 Nichi to Nihonbashi” from Yoyogi Hachiman, Starbucks, sushi, burgers, teppanyaki… you can find all the trendiest eats here. Moreover, there's a connecting passage between the new wing and the existing Nihonbashi Takashimaya, making it very convenient to move back and forth.
It’s particularly worth mentioning that food-related outlets make up 40% of the total stores in the new wing of Nihonbashi Takashimaya. On B1, there’s the popular sushi shop “Umeoka Sushi Midori Honten” and the vegetable-focused “GREENBOWL.” The “City Marche,” as well as the “Nihonbashi Dining Area” on the 6F and 7F, gather many renowned eateries. The first branch outside Hokkaido of“Sapporo Date Nihonbashi,” which canfully satisfyall your senses,fulfillsyour cravings with“Tiger Gen Tei,””and more. “Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. (Shopping Center))” preserves the existing National Important Cultural Property—Nihonbashi Takashimaya—and adds two new buildings. The original Takashimaya department store building becomes the Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. Main Wing, while the two newly built high-rises house the “Pokémon Center TOKYO DX & Pokémon Cafe(Pokémon Café)”” in the East Wing and the “TAKASHIMAYA WATCH MAISON (Takashimaya Watch Boutique)” area. Together, the four facilities form a new urban commercial complex covering a total area of 66,000 square meters.
· Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C.Main Wing
The current Nihonbashi Takashimaya department store,opened in 1933 and designated as a National Important Cultural Property in 2009. With an overall design based on an Oriental style, it is the largest and best-preserved department store building from the early Showa period still standing today. Stepping inside feels like entering a dreamy palace. From world-class luxury brands to various made-in-Japan products and even exquisite desserts, even after so many years, this historic department store remains full of charm.
A rooftop garden—NihonbashiGreen Terrace—will be completed on the roof of the Main Wing in spring 2019. Together with the East Wing and the new wing, it forms the largest rooftop garden in Tokyo. Not only is it available to department store customers, but also to office workers in nearby skyscrapers and local residents. In a city where nature is relatively scarce, such a green, open space is very much needed. When you have time, do come up for a visit—it’s sure to soothe your mood.Green Terrace. Together with the East Wing and the New Wing, it forms the largest rooftop garden in Tokyo. On the 5th floor of the East Building, which has direct access to the main building, there is the ultra-popularPokémon Center TOKYO DX & Pokémon Cafe(Pokémon Café)”.Here, you can enjoy meals and drinks themed around Pokémon. A variety of fun, related events are also held. Of course, there are plenty of exclusive commemorative goods too. The café offers menus not only in Japanese but also in Chinese and English, so both domestic and international visitors can spend a delightful, whimsical time here. Please note that the Pokémon Café now operates on a reservation-only basis via the internet.

Opposite the main building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. is the watch boutique area.
