Charming Countryside (Five Fields and Six Gardens) ― Take a Basket and Stroll Through the Vegetable Patch

    Taking a tour with a basket in hand is probably something no one has ever thought of before. But today, in Fangshan District, under the strong promotion of the District Agriculture Commission and the District Crop Production Service Center, the construction of "Four Seasons Fangshan ● Beautiful Countryside – Charming Countryside (Five Fields and Six Gardens)" is in full swing. This initiative integrates and enhances the advantages of agricultural industry resources, promotes the transformation and development of the agricultural sector, improves infrastructure, and boosts the growth of leisure agriculture tourism. As a result, what used to be simple vegetable patches have now become picturesque destinations offering a wide range of recreational activities. It has also made going to the vegetable garden with a basket to pick fresh organic produce one of the trendiest ways to vacation and relax today.

　　    There is also the Nanzhao Vegetable Garden located in Nanzhao Village, southeast of Liulihe Town in Fangshan District, operated by Beijing Huixin Hengtai Planting Professional Cooperative. Covering an area of 120 mu, it houses 63 greenhouse sheds and mainly grows a rich variety of fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, watermelons, and cherries. The watermelons here are known to have cooling, thirst-quenching, diuretic, and heat-relieving benefits; they help treat chest congestion, difficulty urinating, mouth and nose sores, summer heat, heatstroke, and even alcohol intoxication. Through the rational planning of greenhouse vegetable cultivation, the Nanzhao Vegetable Garden’s planting base allows for year-round sightseeing and fruit and vegetable picking activities. It offers urban dwellers a chance to fully unwind, immerse themselves in nature, breathe in the fragrance of the great outdoors, and enjoy the harmonious beauty between humans and nature.
