Travel Tips:
The Taiji Lake Ecological and Cultural Tourism Area is located at the foot of Wudang Mountain — a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a sacred Taoist destination, and a national 5A-level tourist attraction. It serves as the water source for the central route of China’s South-to-North Water Diversion Project, covering a water area of 1,050 square kilometers, which is three times the size of Qiandao Lake, making it the largest artificial lake in China.
How to Get There (Departing from Wudangshan Town):
1. Arrive at Wudangshan Railway Station. After getting off, take the bus No. 203 at the bus stop outside the station to the entrance of Wudang Mountain Scenic Area. Then transfer to bus No. 2 to reach Taiji Lake Dock.
2. Arrive at Shiyan Railway Station. After getting off, take the bus No. 202 at the bus stop outside the station to the entrance of Wudang Mountain Scenic Area. Then transfer to bus No. 2 to reach Taiji Lake Dock.
3. Arrive at Xiangyang Railway Station. (Alternatively, you may take a train to Shiyan Railway Station, then follow the steps above to get to Wudang Mountain Scenic Area.) You may also take a bus from Xiangyang to Wudang Mountain, get off at the scenic area entrance, and transfer to bus No. 2 to reach Taiji Lake Dock.
4. The fare from Wudangshan Town to Taiji Lake Scenic Area is around 20 RMB. (It’s best to agree on the price with the driver before boarding.)
