The 2014 Mongolian Mountain Challenge has successfully concluded. The three riders sponsored by VAUDE endured hardships in Mongolia but also discovered its beauty. On September 26, 2014, two team members of the VAUDE-WTB cycling team will hold a sharing session themed “A Journey of Endurance and Beauty” at the VAUDE Green Concept Store in Guangzhou, with over 80 cycling enthusiasts expected to attend.
The three riders sponsored by VAUDE are Zhang Nuo, Liu Shibao, and He Huaishong, who have been active in various domestic and international competitions in recent years and have achieved excellent results. Among them, Zhang Nuo had previously participated in the MBC events in both 2012 and 2013, and he is the first mainland Chinese cyclist to compete in the MBC. This time, all three riders successfully completed the race. Liu Shibao finished 19th overall and ranked 4th in the Sportsman category. He Huaishong, who won second place in the Sportsman category in two stages, had hoped to fight for more in the final stage. However, after multiple stages of exertion, he was unable to perform at his best in the last stage, finishing 22nd and missing out on a top-three spot in the Sportsman category. Team captain Zhang Nuo, affected by the cold weather and a cold, still persevered and completed the final stage.
Looking back at this race, one cannot fail to mention the team uniforms designed by VAUDE for its three sponsored riders. In terms of design, the uniforms not only displayed the emblem of the challenge but also prominently featured the Chinese national flag on the shoulders—the most visible position—symbolizing that they were not just fighting for themselves, but for China. The uniforms also stood out remarkably during the competition.
