With less than two months to go before the 20th Yiwu Fair kicks off in Yiwu, Zhejiang, the exhibition's booth solicitation and promotional efforts continue to progress in an orderly manner. According to information from Yibo Exhibition Company, as of August 17, the number of pre-registered domestic and international merchants for this edition of the Yiwu Fair has reached nearly 4,000, nearly six times that of the same period last year, showing a significantly larger increase compared to previous years.
Amid increasingly fierce market competition, the Yiwu Fair has become a crucial platform for companies to expand their influence, showcase their products and brand image, obtain first-hand market intelligence, and secure customer resources. Each year, the Yiwu Fair attracts thousands of exhibitors and tens of thousands of merchants, with annual transaction volumes consistently breaking new records. It effectively serves as a bridge and economic engine, providing the most practical services to businesses and merchants. Based on current booth solicitation trends, this edition of the Yiwu Fair is likely to reach new heights in scale, merchant traffic, and total transaction volume.
Among the seven major exhibiting industries at the Yiwu Fair (namely: hardware, electronics and electrical appliances, textiles and garments, jewelry and accessories, handicrafts, daily necessities, and sports, cultural, and outdoor leisure products), the hardware industry has emerged as a new highlight of this year’s event. So far, the arrangement of hardware exhibition booths is nearing completion, with enthusiastic responses from participating enterprises. The planned scale of over 800 booths is almost fully subscribed, covering four major segments: hardware tools, construction hardware, daily-use hardware, and mechanical and electrical equipment, with halls A1 and B1 largely allocated.
In recent years, the demand in the hardware industry has been growing year by year, with a highly favorable market outlook. Well-known companies such as Guangdong Haotaitai Technology Development Co., Ltd., Tie? Electric Tool Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Yuhuo Pipe Industry Co., Ltd., and Phoenix Technology Group Co., Ltd. have all secured their spots at the Yiwu Fair by reserving premium exhibition spaces. The padlock association section, in particular, has become a major highlight of this year’s hardware industry. It is reported that during the exhibition, a large padlock industry zone composed of around 20 booths from over 10 companies will showcase padlocks in various materials, forms, and display styles, aiming to captivate the attention and footsteps of merchants.
On Yiwu Market’s path toward internationalization, targeting foreign trade export business and developing an export-oriented economic model have become the key transformation focus and growth mantra for most merchants—this is also another defining feature of the hardware industry. Since 2001, the Yiwu hardware and home appliance industry has seen over 8,000 merchants, with products exported to more than 200 countries and regions. International retail giants such as Walmart and Metro have established the Yiwu market as their procurement base for hardware and home appliances, maintaining long-term cooperative relationships with Yiwu.
