On September 20, 2014, the fourth leg of the “Path of Discovery — Guizhou’s Secrets” Global Business Schools EMBA Jungle Challenge was perfectly concluded at the picturesque Guizhou Guizhou River Scenic Tourism Area in Ziyun Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, marking the official end of this competition. After four days of extreme cross-country challenges spanning nearly 100 kilometers, the Fudan University Team from Fudan University’s School of Management won the overall team championship. The “Sister Team” from Renmin University of China’s School of Business claimed second place, while the “Angry Beans Team,” composed of participants from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China’s School of Business, Renmin University of China’s School of Business, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Antai College of Economics and Management, took third place. Professional experience athlete Yu Lei was awarded Best Athlete. Thanks to strong support from media partners including Youku, Tudou, CCTV.com, Green Field Network, and outdoor gear outlets.
Zeng Hua, founder of Beijing Skyroam Travel Goods Co., Ltd., said in an interview with reporters: “Outdoor sports allow me to release my stress after a busy work schedule and are a particularly good way to relax. That’s why I participate in many different outdoor activities every year, to the point that it has become a habit. For me, covering a course of nearly 100 kilometers in this competition doesn’t feel like a challenge — even if it is, I will experience it with a different mindset. Actually, I’m not focused on the difficulties I face during the journey. What I think about is what kind of equipment EMBA students need for outdoor activities, how I can design and produce better products and works to help them enjoy the experience more conveniently and comfortably, and what kind of services Skyroam can offer them during these outdoor adventures. That’s what I’ve been thinking about throughout the journey.”
The spirit of teamwork was also vividly demonstrated in this competition. Many athletes who crossed the finish line first, after a brief rest and energy replenishment, returned to welcome their teammates. Some teams even moved forward hand in hand, completing each leg of the race together, advancing and retreating as one.
In addition to teamwork, the warm and touching moments during this competition also became some of the most unforgettable highlights of the event.
