In October, the 2014 Zhangjiajie Environmental Protection Century Journey, organized by the Zhangjiajie Environmental Protection Century Journey Organizing Committee, was officially launched. Themed “Strengthening Special Action Measures to Create a Sky-Blue, Land-Green, Water-Clear Environment,” the campaign will concentrate on six key areas: air pollution prevention, water pollution control, waste management, livestock and poultry farming pollution remediation, noise pollution control, and community-driven green initiatives.
The Bailong Elevator is a must-pass route to Zhangjiajie’s core scenic area, Yuanjiajie, connecting two premium tourist routes—“Golden Whip Stream” and “Yuanjiajie.” With massive foot traffic, this unique “tour on the mountain, stay at the foot” model has, since its launch and operation in 2004, transported over 4 million visitors, playing an irreplaceable role in alleviating scenic area reception pressures and reducing environmental pollution.
