On the map, Namtso is a white expanse between 30°30′ and 30°35′ north latitude and 90°16′ and 91°03′ east longitude; from an airplane, the glaciers beneath snow-capped peaks resemble wheel tracks after a snowfall, with Namtso being a crystal-clear blue gem hidden among these snowy traces; to believers, Namtso is the Heavenly Lake, the Spirit Lake, and the Sacred Lake—an inviolable sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism; to strangers and in dreams, it is holy, beautiful, and mysterious, with breathtaking scenery as enchanting as heaven itself... A 6-day journey as part of the 2014 Gore-Tex™ Outdoor Dream Realization “New Explorers' Dreamland” — the “Crystal Clear Sky Lake” campaign. Participants practiced “outdoor activities with public welfare”: exploring river valleys, lakes, primeval forests, and religious sites, donating sports and school supplies to children in Tibetan-area schools, picking up litter, and calling on local Tibetans and tourists from all over to join in environmental protection efforts to preserve the clarity of the sky lake. In the continuous snow-capped mountains and crystal-clear lakes, people from different ethnicities and walks of life left behind their shared love for the “sky lake.”
