On September 28, the 2nd Qingdao・Laixi Dagush River International Leisure Festival 2018 opened. The on-site drone performances, leisure cycling along the Dagush River, and eco-paint runs brought citizens a feast of activities combining leisure sports and sightseeing, further deepening the brand essence of “Enjoy Laixi.”
That morning, the 2nd Dagush River International Leisure Festival kicked off with a drone formation show and a drone smoke performance. Yang Xijun, Inspector of the Qingdao Municipal Tourism Development Commission; Zou Xuexin, Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC and Head of the “Enjoy Laixi” Brand Cultivation Working Group; Ding Zhaoxia, Vice Mayor of the Municipal Government; Lü Yingzhi, Vice Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC and Director of the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism; Tang Weiqing, Secretary of the Municipal Directly Affiliated Organs Work Committee; and Zhang Yanwei, Director of the Municipal Sports Center, all attended.
It is reported that this edition of the Dagush River International Leisure Festival will last 60 days, themed “Sports & Leisure, Enjoy Laixi.” It consists of ten events, including the launch ceremony of the Dagush River International Leisure Festival and the “10,000 People Tour Laixi” campaign, the Dagush River leisure cycling activity, the Dagush River eco-paint run, the “Enjoy Laixi” tourism photography contest field trip, the 1st Laixi Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival, and the 3rd Jiangshan Wetland International Marathon.
Among them, at the launch ceremony that day, over 300 cycling enthusiasts from Qingdao, Yantai, Weifang, Weihai, and Laixi set off at 9:20 am from the Gush River Amusement Park. They cycled along the dike-top road, passing by Hualing Agricultural Innovation Park and Qujiazhuang Grape Picking Garden, and finally arrived at Xian Duoduo Farm, creating the first highlight of the event.
At the same time, some Laixi government officials and hiking enthusiasts also participated in the eco-paint run, setting off at 9:30 am from the Gush River Amusement Park. They cycled along the dike-top road of the Dagush River, passed through the Leisure Sports Park, and eventually reached the Aorun “Qianxi City” Zhuhai Road Sales Office. Along the way, participants could enjoy the natural scenery of the Dagush River and the local customs of the villages.
In addition, the “Enjoy Laixi” tourism photography contest field trip was also held as scheduled that day, themed “Enjoy Laixi” and “Discover the Pristine Beauty of Laixi.” It aimed to comprehensively reflect Laixi’s charming natural landscapes, rich folk customs, and profound historical culture, presenting the unique charm of Laixi’s tourism resources from a full perspective and in a multi-dimensional way. Through the photography competition, elements such as Laixi’s history and culture, natural ecology, local customs, and specialty cuisine were promoted and celebrated.
The 3rd Jiangshan Wetland International Marathon, the “Enjoy Laixi” Autumn Harvest Festival, the “Enjoy Laixi” Leisure & Food Festival, and the Laixi Tourism Benefit Month will be held subsequently.
It is understood that this edition of the Dagush River International Leisure Festival is hosted by the “Enjoy Laixi” Brand Cultivation Working Group of Laixi City, and organized by the Laixi Municipal Directly Affiliated Organs Work Committee, Laixi Municipal Bureau of Tourism, Laixi Municipal Sports Center, and Qingdao Shendu Media Co., Ltd.
To further enhance the visibility and reputation of the “Enjoy Laixi” tourism brand and thoroughly implement the 1+5+4 work goal system proposed by the Laixi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, this edition of the Dagush River International Leisure Festival centers around the urban brand building goal of “Enjoy Laixi.” It establishes the “Dagush River International Leisure Festival” as an event label, further deepens the brand essence of “Enjoy Laixi,” contributes to Laixi’s green rise, and accelerates the pace of building an international tourism resort destination city.
