The 4th Asia Bike Expo 2014 wrapped up successfully in Nanjing on October 12. A total of 487 brands gathered in Nanjing (a 23.6% increase from last year), with over 80% coming from outside mainland China. The indoor exhibition area reached 38,000 square meters (a 46.15% increase compared to the previous year).

The Asia Bike Expo Demo Day on October 8 was the only event in Asia where professional visitors could test globally premier newly-launched high-end sports bicycles a full year ahead of their market release. To add more fun, Nanjing Ninfei specially collaborated with Canadian brand Paddles Canada to organize a beginner’s kayaking training and experience session. Due to kayaking's water-friendly nature and ease of learning, it attracted many participants, creating an exceptionally lively atmosphere on-site. Everyone enjoyed it so much they spontaneously organized a challenge — eventually, in the “Free-for-All Competition,” the duo of Pu Wei from Xi’an Green Ant and Zi Di from Shushan Expedition claimed victory by a “slim margin.”
On October 9, the 4th Asia Bike Expo grandly opened. Friends from the Golden Autumn Friends Reunion collectively visited the exhibition, starting with getting to know the brands, then studying product features. Some took the opportunity to discuss agency cooperation with exhibitors, and the friends left with fruitful gains.
Working Together – Asia Outdoor Plans for Growth
After visiting the Asia Bike Expo and gaining a preliminary understanding of the sports bicycle market, friends from the Golden Autumn Friends Reunion sat down together to discuss the development of China’s outdoor industry in 2015.
On popular topics such as brand marketing, stimulating consumption, choosing which expos to attend, and the relationship between environmentalism and the outdoor industry, everyone shared their views. It’s worth mentioning that Mr. Stefan Reisinger, Managing Director of Messe Friedrichshafen GmbH (Asia Outdoor and Asia Bike’s European partner) and General Manager of the European OutDoor & Eurobike projects, also attended the meeting and shared insights from the European outdoor products market.
As 2015 marks the 10th anniversary of Asia Outdoor, everyone agreed that this golden opportunity should be fully utilized. By leveraging the Asia Outdoor expo platform, more activities should be organized to engage both industry and consumers, to revive the market, stimulate consumption, and rejuvenate China’s outdoor industry. To this end, attendees shared their thoughts — some discussed their successful exhibition experiences, while others offered valuable suggestions and higher expectations for Asia Outdoor.
Since it was a reunion of old friends, work was naturally followed by meals and chats. Nanjing Ninfei specially arranged a crab feast featuring the signature Gucheng Lake hairy crabs and a tea tasting session with distinctive Jinling (Nanjing) flair. Throughout the meal, laughter and conversation flowed freely, with toasts exchanged, jokes among old friends, and warm greetings between new acquaintances.
With the understanding and support of so many friends, we are full of confidence in the future of the two core influential expos — Asia Outdoor and Asia Bike. Coincidentally, the dates for the 2015 Asia Outdoor Expo and Asia Bike Expo are exactly the same as in 2014 (Asia Outdoor 2015: July 23–26; Asia Bike 2015: October 9–12). If you are also part of the outdoor and sports bicycle industry, we warmly welcome your participation. See you in 2015 — Nanjing welcomes you!
