The world’s first magnetic levitation skateboard debuts, exuding a highly sci-fi and futuristic vibe

But recently, a Hendo skateboard currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter stands out as truly unique, exuding a highly sci-fi and futuristic vibe. This skateboard features four disc-shaped “hover engines” and is the world’s first hoverboard.
The Hendo hoverboard generates lift using magnetic fields. Although it currently only works on non-magnetic conductive surfaces, the team hopes to eventually overcome this limitation. The creators of Hendo, Greg and Jill Henderson, said the technology is similar to maglev trains but is more efficient and cost-effective.
The team also specifically invited legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk to try the board in person. From the released video, even Hawk himself couldn’t master the highly sci-fi skateboard right away, but he still had a great time playing with it and said he was deeply impressed by the board.
Currently, the Hendo hoverboard is being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, having already met its initial funding goal of $250,000 and is now surpassing the $450,000 mark. While it requires a $10,000 pledge to actually receive the board, people can also spend $100 to test it out for five minutes at Hendo-provided facilities, or get a Whitebox developer kit for $299.
