It is understood that this is not the first time Zhangjiajie has served as a filming location for a movie. The floating mountains in the American 3D blockbuster "Avatar" were filmed at Yuanjiajie’s "Hallelujah Mountain." Moreover, China’s first 3D fantasy blockbuster "The Monkey King: Havoc in Heaven," released last Spring Festival, also featured multiple scenes shot in Zhangjiajie.
